URGENT ACTION ALERT! If you are a Michigan resident, Great Lakes resident or care about fresh water contact everyone below TODAY and share this post!
Now that the Michigan House has approved $50 million to fund the infrastructure for the Copperwood Mine, we need to urge the Senate to halt the funding — as occurred twice last year!
Although the budget deadline is October 1st, the important conversations are happening NOW, which is why it's crucial we all speak up THIS WEEK!

*** In all messages, urge, NO DEMAND them to "exclude the $50 million earmark to Wakefield Township from the 2026 budget."
This is nothing more than a recycled attempt to push through the same proposal that was rejected last year—the one meant to pave the way for the Copperwood Mine next to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.
The only thing that’s changed is the packaging. Instead of calling it what it is, they’ve redirected the money to Wakefield Township under the same false pretense: infrastructure for the mine. This is political trickery, plain and simple, and Michiganders are not fooled. We DO NOT want our tax dollars funding this mine.
If you need more information, please go to protecttheporkies.com
And let’s not ignore the obvious conflict of interest: the Wakefield Township supervisor’s family stands to profit directly, since their construction company is already tied to the mine’s early infrastructure work. That is corruption in broad daylight. Source: Economic Development Responsibility Alliance
Thank you!

I support your concerns Bryan. Your sunset photo of Lake of the Clouds is magnificent.
