Photo a Day Project Update 3
Past the 150 day mark, motivation low the last few weeks
Hey everyone, I wanted to post another update on my landscape/nature photography photo-a-day project. Here are some of my favorite images since my last update on April 1st. Over the last few weeks, my motivation has been waning. Not because I don’t like getting out in nature, since that is the only thing that really calms me. And not even because I’ve been tired, as sleep gets more difficult when I’m out at 5:30am before sunrise, and then doing work, chores, or exercise during the day, getting sleepy mid-day, and then catching a 2nd wind in the evening. Before I know it, it’s 10pm and I need to sleep if I’m getting up again at 5:30. Yeah, my body doesn’t like that.
No, the lack of motivation is the constant attack on our public lands. The fight to stop the Copperwood mine next to the Porcupine Mountains is a constant battle. Now there is a new fight over reopening another mine near the Porkies. The ban has been lifted on drilling and mining in the Boundary Waters. The dismantling of the National Forest Service, the pressure to mine, log more, and sell off national forest land. And the pressures and attacks on the National Parks. Oh, and once again the dam that created the pond at Maybury when it became a park has been leaking for at least 5 years now and needs to be repaired. The pond is not healthy, and once again the repair work seems to be delayed another year. It’s all exhausting.
As always thank you for following along and thanks to those who have sent along kind comments. Much appreciated.

Beautiful set. I think my favs are 1, 5, and the last one.
Glad to see you're keeping this mission going. That ICM image is really great. You do an excellent job of creating variety and representing different genres.
